Do you have experience with selling to Architects, Specifiers, Framework partners & Contractors & Fire Protection contractors?
This role could be for you!
We are currently recruiting for a company who specialises in fire protection solutions, innovative plasterboard products and systems. They are looking for an Architectural Specification Manager, location is open to anywhere, so if you fit the bill and fancy a shot, get in touch.
The ASM is responsible for ensuring that the company delivers its market strategy across the brand and to seek the best commercial performance of the brand by creating specifications that are robust and fit for purpose.
Key responsibilities:
- Always promote a positive image of the brand in the marketplace and act as a “best example” to colleagues and customers.
- Work with the architects and relevant specification teams to products and systems.
- Identify the market sectors (Health, Education, Leisure) and companies where the products could most successfully be specified and develop relationships with the specifiers in them to maximise demand for these products and systems.
- Work with supply chain partners to ensure their projects come out as a robust specification.
- Ensure Business development objectives are achieved and support the BDM with regional presence in main contractors and supply chain partners when requested.
- Work with the technical enquiry line to ensure alignment between external technical sales and back-office support.
- Follow the lead process. Update daily the companies on the CRM tool with Comms Visits, Agenda, Tasks. Additional updating will be required for any other CRM activities – to be added on a timely basis.
- Build professional relationships with all other departments.
What you’ll bring:
Critical:
- Maths, English and a Science and / or design and technology GCSE minimum grade C
- Up to date understanding of building regulations (preferably parts B, E and L) and other sector relevant building standards (e.g. BB93, HTM08, etc.)
- Communication skills – Clear concise in both oral and written are essential.
- IT Literate – understands construction design software, e.g. CAD / BIM; able to use Microsoft Office packages, e.g. Excel, Powerpoint, Word; and proficient in use of internet.
- Literacy – Effective report writing, confident presentation skills and ability to prepare technical documents in a clear legible manner are essential.
- Creative thinker
- Demonstration of technical documentation written and submitted in the past for review would be advantageous.
- Experience of Design & Build, Traditional, Procure 21, CLAW, partnering agreements, and envelope schemes.
- Demonstrable, experience of being able to create bespoke ‘engineered’ solutions for specific customer construction projects – high level of technical competence.
- Experience of architectural practices and procedures, including the ability to interpret architectural drawings and plans.
Desirable:
- Building Acoustics and Noise Control Training
- Passive Fire Protection for Construction Training
- Thermal/Energy Performance Awareness Training
- Understanding of the RIBA work stage process 2010 and 2013
- Higher Education qualification in an Engineering, Architectural or Business subject
