    If so, this vacancy could be for you.

    We’re currently recruiting for a client who is the one stop shop for commercial building products and solutions. They offer a range of products to cover any need. They are looking for an area sales manager to cover the Midlands You’d be reporting into the commercial manager.

    Purpose of the job

    Responsible for maximising the company’s profitability and business development within the northern region, in line with the overall budget and the sales targets set and agreed.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Identifying new business opportunities, within the region to explore further with the line manager.
    • To promote the company’s service, product range and image.
    • Establish and build healthy relationships with customers (House Builders/Main Contractors/Ground Workers.), suppliers, and colleagues.
    • Look for new suppliers/materials to bring into our product portfolio, adding to our offer as a solutions/commercial builders’ merchant.
    • Managing key relationships with stake holders / managers and their sales teams, to promote and maximise additional revenue opportunities.
    • Formulating an area strategy in line with business’s progression plan.
    • Maintain awareness of competitor activity within the area and any potential impact this may have.
    • To prepare tenders/quotations and negotiate for future orders on live enquiries.
    • Maintain daily call records, and enquiry logs.
    • Coaching and mentoring other members of the team.

    Key Skills:

    • Must live in the Midlands and be happy to work on the road (Essential).
    • External Sales / Field Sales Experience (Essential).
    • Broad product range knowledge – Commercial Building Materials, hard landscaping, drainage, natural stone etc. (Desirable).
    • Sales experience (preferably in the Construction industry) 
    • Experience liaising with or selling to Builders Merchants, and Subcontractors.
    • Focused on Customer Service
    • Good organisation skills
    • Target driven & ambitious.
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Full Driving Licence
