    Our client is one of the leading manufacturers of Heavyside building materials. This role is to ensure that our client retains/improves market position via sales of their products. To ensure customer contact with existing and prospective customers in their trading area seek the best commercial performance. They are open to candidates with a variety of experience.

    Key Objectives:

    • Liaise with builders, merchants, architects, and engineers.
    • Responsibility for customer management.
    • Carry-out merchant and site visits.
    • Generate Steel Lintels orders.
    • Always promote Health & Safety in the workplace, displaying excellent personal safety and challenging others when unsafe behaviour is observed. This extends to ensuring all reports are aware of and behave in accordance with the company Health & Safety guidelines.
    • Ensure customer sales targets, national account targets and area budgets are achieved or exceeded both personally and in support of our wider business. Report and address underperformance immediately. Make sure personal expenditure is managed to always achieve best value.
    • Ensure you consistently work in line with area, divisional and company objectives.
    • Always ensure effective departmental and cross departmental communication.
    • Create and maintain Business Development Plans for key area accounts and your own trading area. These plans should follow the format of your divisional team and must align with national strategy.
    • Review customer performance regularly and ensure actions are progressing, taking corrective actions where necessary.
    • Identify actual and prospective business opportunities, negotiate trading terms within the agreed parameters. Maintain, develop, and improve relationships at allocated level within our customer’s organisation.
    • Update daily the company’s CRM tool. Agenda tasks, outcomes, leads, complaints, quotes, pricing, schedule updates and area call reports with actions.
    • Work in partnership with the Internal sales teams to delivery success on your area.
    • Ensure any other relevant data is recorded in CRM (Plot numbers, market information, customer address changes, new job roles and amended job roles)
    • Via training & documentation provided by the company, ensure that you know and understand the company’s products and systems and be able to provide technical back up to customers to the level defined for your role.

    Key Skills:

    • Ideally degree educated or equivalent.
    • Sales experience (preferably in the Construction industry). 
    • Experience liaising with or selling to Builders Merchants
    • Focused on Customer Service
    • Good organisation skills
    • Target driven & ambitious.
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Full Driving Licence
