We’re currently recruiting for a Builders Merchants who has grown to become the leading independent builder’s merchants in Wales. They are committed to providing excellence in customer service achieved through the commitment and knowledge of all their staff, along with training and investment within the business. They are looking for a Branch Manager to be based at the Swansea branch to help to the branch to the next level.
Key responsibilities for a Branch Manager:
- To control the branch’s day to day activities, involving all operating processes, policies, and procedures.
- To oversee and manage compliance of the above.
- To lead and motivate your team daily to aid the branch in achieving its sales and service goals. At a minimum to achieve annual branch performance target.
- To demonstrate and enforce the company values and objectives.
- To Part-take in the Recruitment and selection process.
- To ensure stock damage is kept a minimum through the safe storage of products and appropriate Training for staff.
- To Co-ordinate and Manage the annual Stock Take procedure.
- To facilitate sales within the branch and ensure operational efficiency.
- To identify opportunities with new clients and markets, working towards an improved customer base.
- To take responsibility for resolving issues with supplier and customer orders/deliveries.
- To keep up to date with the local market in regard to customers, trends, products and competition.
- Identifying and recommending profit improvement plans.
- Managing staff to ensure all employees are clear on work priorities and that activities are completed.
- Manage all aspects of Health & Safety in the branch and in particular to ‘walk’ the yard, warehouse and shop daily to ensure compliance of procedures.
- To communicate all messages and instructions from Directors/Head Office Staff.
Key Skills as a Branch Manager:
- Previous branch management experience preferably within the Heavyside construction industry.
- Great interpersonal skills, tenacious and level-headed with the ability to manage a varied team.
- A level-headed decision maker who understands the importance of people in the successful running of a business.
- To be profit driven and ambitious, a great team player with great interpersonal skills and a desire to learn and develop your career.
- Experience of all aspects of a branch including sales and customer service, CRM system, people management, operations, pricing, and stock control.
Remuneration package:
- Base Salary is negotiable for the right person.
