We have the role for you!
We are currently recruiting for a client who are a specialist Builders Merchants with over 40 years’ experience within the construction industry. They currently have 7 trade stores in Andover, Southampton, Salisbury, Portsmouth, Biggleswade, Taunton and Bournemouth.
They are currently looking for a Business Development Coordinator to be based at their Andover office.
The main parts of this role would be to coordinate the external sales function through appointment setting and diary management for the Business Development Team. Developing the initial calls into an appointment for the Business Development Managers (BDM) to meet and sell to the customer face to face.
Key Responsibilities:
- Qualifying leads to identify top prospects.
- Outbound proactive calls to prospects.
- Outbound appointment making calls to confirm customer visits for BDM.
- Diary management for BDM’s.
- Scheduling customer visits each week in line with targets set.
- Typing pre-visit notes for the sales team.
- Preparing visit agendas and discussion points for each visit.
- Typing notes of the F2F visits and actioning the outcomes.
- Liaising with Marketing to ensure BDM’s have sufficient marketing material.
Key Skills:
Knowledge:
- Advanced knowledge of proven and effective sales techniques (training will be provided).
- Current knowledge of construction industry in the UK (desirable).
Skills:
- In-depth evidence of effective sales negotiations.
- Well spoken, articulate and highly motivated to succeed.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build new customer relationships.
- A driven, tenacious, and persuasive character to assist the business to achieve their targets.

- Gross Profit £ and % v Target
- LSA – Last Sales Activity per Customer/ Activity Targets
- Proactive Calls
