We’ve got an incredible opportunity for someone who is looking for their first sales role. Our client is one of the leading European brands for sustainable plaster, render and external wall insulation for the construction industry. They now have a presence in over 30 countries worldwide with a turnover of around €2.6billion.
They’re looking for someone who is currently in an internal role but is looking to progress into their first sales role.
The role is a Business Development Manager to cover the East of England, Home counties and Anglia. You’ll be reporting into the Head of Sales, with your route to marketing being 50% Merchant, 40% Applicators (Installers) and 10% Regional housebuilders you’ll need to have strong commercial orientation and the ability to demonstrate a commercially based offer.
The sales team is primarily responsible for achieving monthly revenue targets and driving the sales growth. This role is field based and requires a high degree of self-management and motivation. The sales team is a crucial function to the future success of the company and through a clear plan, actionable review of insights and performance coupled with close commercial relationships with key customers, we can leverage our position within the UK market.
Key Objectives:
- Increase turnover and profitability within direct accounts defined in a geographical area.
- Proactively sell products to specifiers, architects, applicators, merchants, contractors and back-sell through current stockists via distribution
- Agree targets and set objectives for each account with your defined area and obtain agreement to the proposed area plan. Amend in the light of changes to regional, national, market strategy.
- Arrange training for all customers as necessary to ensure knowledge of the sales benefits and technical advantages of all products.
- Evaluate and identify potential contract leads within the developer sector using lead software and manage accordingly from cradle to grave.
- Fully understand and effectively communicate the strategy of the business.
- Plan journeys and visits to customers at appropriate frequencies to optimize the potential of each account, having regard to the time and expense involved whilst adhering to KPI’s set by your line manager.
- Ensure comprehensive records are kept and maintained via CRM system and lap top computer of all current and potential contracts/specifications in accordance with company guidelines.
- Refer customer suggestions on potential product modifications and/or new ideas via monthly report.
- Evaluate opportunities for participation in trade events and exhibitions and arrange company involvement, including personal representation, where appropriate.
- Participate and take responsibility for your customers at corporate events.
- Ensure a high standard of presentation of car and equipment at all times as well as a high standard of personal appearance.
