We’re currently recruiting for a Builders Merchants in the North East, they are looking for a Plumbing & Heating Director.
The main purpose of the role is to analyse consumer trends and develop strategies for clear routes to market through multiple sales channels. Oversee pricing strategies, exit strategies, core product ranges, stock limits, budget implementation and full category management to maximise sales and profitability.
This position has direct responsibility of 9 of the following key positions:
- P&H Managers of 6 locations
- Showroom Manager
- Online P&H Development Manager
Strategic Planning and Implementation:
Alongside the Leadership Team, playing a major role in contributing to the formulation of all strategic & tactical plans for the business and playing a leadership role in the first-class development & execution of all plans relating to the Plumbing & Heating category.
Meetings:
- Executive Committee Meetings: Attendee & Contributor
- Pricing Meetings: Attendee & Contributor
- Management Meetings: Attendee & Contributor
- Plumbing & Heating Commercial Meetings: Chair
- P&H Supplier Meetings: Chair
- 1 to 1 Meetings with the MD: Attendee & Chair
Main Responsibilities:
- Maintain working relationships with all other executive committee members to ensure effective co-ordination of all company activities in support of business objectives.
- On-line category development building extended ranges and delivering revenue & profit to the budgeted level.
- Working with all P&H & Showroom suppliers to deliver the right ranges.
- Taking a leading role for the business in the development of relationships.
- P&H & Showroom stock management to set targets
- Working closely with Marketing and Commercial teams to deliver relevant promotional activities that have meaning in the market place.
- Responsible for all aspects of budgeting for the P&H & Showroom categories, responsible for revenue and margin delivery.
- Evaluating overall company performance in the P&H & Showroom categories, analysing and interpreting data and metrics (then) building & execution plans for improvement.
- Establish a planned schedule of branch showroom maintenance and capital expenditure and track actual spend against it.
- Act as the main advisor for the business on all issues relating to P&H & Showroom categories.
- Keep abreast of latest developments in the market place to ensure that the business maintains its competitive position in the P&H & Showroom categories.
