We’re currently recruiting for a Builders Merchants who has grown to become the leading independent builder’s merchants in Wales. They are committed to providing excellence in customer service achieved through the commitment and knowledge of all their staff, along with training and investment within the business. They are looking for a Plumbing & Heating Manager to cover South Wales.
Key Responsibilities of a Plumbing & Heating Manager:
- To oversee the sales operation
- Management of 2 External BDM’s, ledger management/growth, setting sales/margin targets, driving growth, identifying new customers and opportunities
- Managing contract pricing and tenders
- Support all sales staff as main contact for pricing support.
- Liaise with Product Category Manager or Commercial Director for additional supplier support.
- Together with the Directors, set company and branch targets.
- Achieve company sales and margin targets for each branch/division.
- Within these overall targets, to set trading numbers of customers per month.
- Within these overall targets, to set product category sales for both sales and margin for each branch.
- Within these targets to manage TOS, collection, delivered and direct volumes, values and margin.
- To work with marketing team to deliver promotional programme to all customers.
- Propose and agree products/ranges to be promoted as part of the programme.
- Product mix to include core products priced to sell and increase volumes, added value products and product range launch/re-launch to increase awareness. All promotions conducted with the aim of increasing profitable revenues.
- To monitor low margin sales via daily margin reports and manage pricing to company guidelines.
- To ensure compliance of no sales below minimum selling prices agreed with Sales Director.
- To ensure all Company Assets and vehicles are maintained, and any defects reported immediately on defect sheets completed by drivers.
- To ensure Company vehicles are sent to be serviced / inspected on time.
Key Skills of a Plumbing & Heating Manager:
- Previous leadership experience managing a team within the plumbing & heating sector with strong knowledge of the South Wales region.
- An individual who is very people focused, with the ability to drive sales through the sales team,
- Great interpersonal skills, tenacious and level-headed with the ability to manage a varied team
- A level-headed decision maker who understands the importance of people in the successful running of a business.
- To be profit driven and ambitious, a great team player with great interpersonal skills and a desire to learn and develop your career.
- Experience of all aspects of a branch including sales and customer service, CRM system, people management, operations, pricing, and stock control.
Remuneration Package:
- Base Salary is negotiable for the right person.
