We’re recruiting on behalf of a leading manufacturer of acoustic, fire, and thermal insulation products for building facades. With over 45 years in the industry, they’re now looking for a Technical Specification Manager to lead the creation and management of technical content and tools that support product specification.
The Role
This is a remote role, but occasional travel to the head office in Maesteg, South Wales will be required (expenses paid).
You’ll be responsible for developing technical documentation, digital tools, and engaging with industry professionals to support product integration into building designs.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, update, and manage technical documents and compliance materials
- Develop digital specification tools (e.g. BIM, DWG files, spec packs) for internal and customer use
- Oversee and regularly review BIM components to ensure accuracy and industry compliance
- Lead the creation of technical content like CPDs, brochures, presentations, and product selectors
- Work closely with architects, specifiers, and consultants to support tailored specifications
- Ensure all digital assets are accurate, traceable, and useful for construction projects
- Support new product development (NPD) from a specification perspective
What You’ll Need
- Degree in Architectural Design & Technology, Architecture, or similar
- Experience writing technical specifications in construction or architecture
- Proficient in BIM tools and digital specification platforms
- Understanding of UK building regulations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of CAD, technical drawings, and compliance/testing documentation
- Familiarity with RIBA CPDs
