    Amiblu are looking to expand their presence within the UK market, and are working with Sharples Davies to successful grow their Technical sales team

    Kevin Jefferson  – Why Sharples Davies?:   I had the privilege of working with Jeff Hulme, during my time with  Uponor and Caradon Group. I learned a lot from Jeff and this has benefitted me throughout my career.  When Jeff contacted me to advise that he was setting up a recruitment company, I knew that with his extensive contacts within the construction and Civil Engineering industries, it was sure to be a successful venture and indeed it has been. I am sure many people have Jeff to thank for their career progressions. Gareth and Jo joined the business and it continued to grow. Sadly, Jeff passed away all to soon after a long health battle.   Gareth and Jo have continued the business and with the professionalism installed by Jeff they have continued to grow Sharples Davies. I had no hesitation in contacting them, and they have indeed been a pleasure to deal with. They provided excellent candidates; they understood what we were looking for. We have secured 2 new Technical Sales Manager and are in final stages with another possible candidate.

    What did you ask Sharples Davies to recruit?: We met Jo and Gareth at Manchester Airport with myself and our Director. Amiblu are looking to expand in the UK, and our first requirement was a Technical Sales Manager to be based in the North of England. The brief was quite specific as we were looking for someone who has knowledge and experience of selling into the water utilities sector, whilst also having a technical understanding to be able to liaise with Water companies, designers and contractors.

    Jo provided me with a shortlist of 7 candidates who we interviewed face to face at their offices in Chorley. We then narrowed this down to 3 candidates we invited for second interview and from these three candidates we felt two could have been appointed and resulted in one of these candidates being successful in securing the role.

    From this recruited we wanted to expand further and have tasked Sharples Davies to find a further two Technical Sales Managers, one for Ireland and one in the South. Again, Jo provided us with 4 strong candidates for the Irish vacancy which has resulted in a successful placement.

    Kevin Jefferson thoughts on this recruitment:  We at Amiblu were very specific in what we were looking for with regards to the type of person and their experience / background in the markets we work in. The quality of the candidates put forward were excellent. The candidates had a brief from Sharples Davies about Amiblu, who we were and what we were looking for, so they came to the interviews with some knowledge of our business. This saves a lot of time during the interview process and let’s candidates prepare for any questions they want to ask. The appointments were set out giving enough time after each one for some discussion between myself and our director.  We were kept informed about candidates’ times in case of any delays. The individual CVs were well set out and informative about each candidate. All in all, a very professional package.
